Senior Accountant — Ancon Services

Ancon is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance Team. This is a high-visibility role that sits at the center of our monthly close process — the critical link between transactional accounting and financial reporting across multiple entities. You'll work closely with a fellow Senior Accountant and CFO and have real opportunity to grow into greater ownership as our finance function scales alongside the business.


Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000 annually, depending on experience

What's the Job All About?

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the month-end close process end-to-end, meeting established deadlines and maintaining a detailed close checklist
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations across all company accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Prepare and post inter-company journal entries, ensuring accurate elimination and reconciliation between related entities
  • Record and review monthly accruals (expense, revenue, payroll, and other) to ensure accurate period-end reporting
  • Prepare and analyze the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve variances
  • Prepare and file Sales & Use Tax, Personal Property Tax, and other privilege/excise taxes
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of the close cycle
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

What We're Looking For:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes
  • Experience with inter-company accounting and multi-entity environments
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred (not required):

  • CPA or active CPA candidacy
