The Position Specifics

Your job is to Spark Brighter Days by leading the team, supporting operations, ensuring every guest leaves happier than they arrived. As an Assistant General Manager, you are the key leader in the restaurant – owning the guest experience, supporting the team, and upholding Over Easy’s standards every day. The responsibilities of this position include: 

  • Lead by example with a strong, positive presence – especially when upper management is not in the building.
  • Supervise daily operations to ensure excellence in food quality, service, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
  • Direct and support proper staffing level, floor coverage, and team performance.
  • Work on the floor Wednesday-Sunday, focusing on staff support and guest experience (including peak weekend shifts). 
  • Assist service during shoulder periods while maintaining leadership presence during peak hours. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized facility including all equipment and workspaces. 
  • Ensure every guest receives attentive, friendly, and timely service.

Team Leadership & Staffing

  • Oversee and work alongside all Front of House team members.
  • Lead training and development for new hires and ongoing team growth.
  • Support and collaborate with the General Manager during all shifts. 
  • Reinforce company policies, procedures, and systems consistently.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and document performance concerns as needed. 

Service & Product Standards

  • Ensure all Over Easy service standards are executed consistently.
  • Oversee food presentation, accuracy, quality, and ticket times. 
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, and recipes.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service, including ID checks and compliance.
  • Monitor both FOH and BOH execution to maintain brand standards. 

Guest Experience

  • Create a welcoming, energetic environment for every guest. 
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve concerns quickly and professionally. 
  • Recognize and engage with regulars, VIPs, and large parties. 
  • Oversee reservation and POS systems to ensure smoother operations. 

Work Environment

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant workplace at all times. 
  • Ensure all health, sanitation, and safety standards are met.
  • Create a positive, respectful, and fun culture for the team.

Financial & Operational Support

  • Assist with food and beverage cost controls.
  • Support labor management, including timely cuts and accurate tracking. 
  • Assist with end-of-day processes and reporting.
  • Utilize systems such as Paylocity, Restaurant365, Toast POS, and Office 365 to drive results. 

Communication & Presence

  • Lead daily pre-shifts and communicate expectations clearly.
  • Maintain a consistent and reliable attendance record. 
  • Complete manager logs, reports, and required documentation. 
  • Communicate effectively with managers, team members, and ownership. 
  • Problem-solve and handle employee or guest issues with professionalism and urgency.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of restaurant management experience with a team of 10+.
  • Must maintain valid Certified Food Protection Manager and Title 4 Manager certifications. 
  • Able to communicate clearly with teammates and leadership. 
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time. 
  • Maintains exceptional hygiene and grooming standards. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
