Working Days and Hours:

  • 15 hours per week. Approximate hours will be 7:30 am to 3:30 pm
  • The coordinator will work approximately 38 weeks per year, 15 hours per week. The position requires the coordinator to be present at school at some times during the week, agreeable to the principal.  

Position Summary: 

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is a qualified professional who meets the requirements to work in a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Denver. The coordinator is hired by and directly accountable to the principal. The coordinator is expected to abide by the policies and procedures of the local school, the Archdiocese of Denver, and the Office of Catholic Schools. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator cooperates with the principal and staff in providing an environment that promotes the ministry of Catholic education and helps build a Catholic culture in the school, ordered towards discipleship. 

  

Essential Job Functions Communications: 

  • Promote the school’s mission and programs to prospective families and the broader community.
  • Coordinate strategic recruitment plans, with sensitivity to cultural and financial considerations.
  • Serve as the primary contact between prospective families and school leadership.
  • Monitor local school trends (enrollment, tuition, waitlists) to offer insight and alternatives.
  • Maintain database of Source of Inquiry.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions Marketing: 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social media platforms.
  • Maintain consistent, mission-driven messaging in all promotional materials.
  • Oversee photography and video content for events, publications, and online use.
  • Collaborate with design and media teams to produce branded marketing materials.
  • Manage the school’s website and social media accounts (Facebook, X, etc.) with timely and relevant content.
  • Develop and maintain a CRM to include information on incoming families and tracking alumni.

Community Engagement & Events:

  • Develop communication around retention events (High School Night, Catholic Schools Week, new family nights, Open Houses, Eighth-Grade Graduation, etc.).
  • Coordinate with parish staff to feature school content in parish communications.
  • Work closely with internal groups (HSA, Gala Committee, faculty) to support outreach and promote the school’s mission.
  • Encourage family involvement in sharing “Good News” stories to build community pride and engagement. 

Retention & Reputation:

  • Support retention through parent engagement and consistent internal communication.
  • Monitor and manage the school’s online reputation and respond to reviews as needed.
  • Implement a word-of-mouth marketing strategy to increase referrals and community awareness.
  • Protect, monitor and guide the use of logos on all school uniforms and other materials.
  • Maintain the admissions and marketing budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Reach out to new families after school has started to foster positive relationships.
  • Conduct exit interviews of leaving families to identify trends.
  • Develop and maintain a list of alumni including contact information.
Requirements

  

Competencies and Qualifications: 

  • Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043)
  • Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals.
  • Effective listening and verbal communication skills.
  • Must work cooperatively with school staff and administration.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to implement safety and emergency procedures.

Education and Experience: 

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing.
  • Compliance with Safe Environment requirements.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to execute appropriate safety and emergency procedures, including leading evacuations and providing basic first aid.
