We are seeking a Production Team Lead (2nd Shift) to champion daily production activities while achieving SQCDP performance objectives. This role provides frontline leadership for safety, quality, production output, employee development, and operational discipline across assigned production areas.
What You’ll Do
Safety
- Promote and enforce all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Conduct routine safety observations and document near misses.
- Address unsafe behaviors and conditions immediately.
- Support reduction of DART incidents and OSHA recordables.
Quality
- Monitor production quality and scrap performance.
- Make disposition decisions related to nonconforming product.
- Ensure work instructions and quality standards are followed.
- Coordinate corrective actions and escalation of quality concerns.
Cost
- Monitor scrap, downtime, and production efficiency.
- Identify waste reduction and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support labor efficiency and machine utilization goals.
- Drive accountability for operational performance.
Delivery
- Plan and prioritize production schedules.
- Monitor hour-by-hour production performance.
- Support schedule attainment and on-time delivery goals.
- Coordinate shift handoffs and communication of production priorities.
People
- Coach, train, and develop 30-40 production operators.
- Conduct employee check-ins and skills matrix reviews.
- Support onboarding and cross-training activities.
- Maintain employee accountability and engagement.
Daily Responsibilities
- Conduct shift handoff walkthroughs.
- Review production schedules and staffing assignments.
- Monitor production boards and floor performance.
- Conduct safety walks and employee coaching.
- Verify timekeeping and attendance records.
- Support operator training and onboarding.

What We’re Looking For
- Associate degree or 1-3 years supervisory or leadership experience
- Understanding of manufacturing operations, production processes, procurement, and related procedures and policies.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees while effectively managing performance and resolving conflicts.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, prioritization, analytical, and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems; experience with IQMS preferred.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, ISO, and quality management requirements.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to represent the company professionally and positively.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification.
