Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Process Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up molds, establishing and maintaining molding processes, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring efficient production operations. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and committed to producing high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and change molds for production runs.
- Start up and process injection molding machines to established specifications.
- Monitor and maintain molding processes to ensure quality and production efficiency.
- Record and document established process parameters in the production system.
- Troubleshoot molding processes, equipment, and production issues.
- Handle, prepare, and stage production materials.
- Complete material requisitions and coordinate material movement as needed.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and repairs.
- Perform minor mold maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain molds, equipment, tooling, and production supplies.
- Organize and maintain the material warehouse area.
- Operate production equipment and package finished products when required.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Technical certificate from a college or trade school preferred; or
- 3–6 months of related manufacturing or injection molding experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of injection molding processes and mold setup.
- Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedures.
- Basic computer proficiency, including database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, and measurements.
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
- Must be able to work night shift 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands, and communicate verbally.
- Frequently sit during portions of the workday.
- Occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach overhead.
- Regularly lift up to 10 pounds.
- Frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision with the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment.
- Frequent exposure to elevated work areas.
- Occasional exposure to electrical hazards.
- Loud work environment requiring appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
