Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coach and mentor staff for future roles within CDI. Responsible for training of employees has been completed for all new employees within the Plant.
- Ensure all critical production roles are filled, focused on their core roles, and can fulfill their job details effectively (Mat/Fab Lead, Maintenance, Safety leads, etc.)
- Drive morale by treating employees with respect and getting to know them in a more personal nature
- Hold daily huddles with all departments on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays updating team on daily production, PSV, near misses, safety issues, calendar updates, and company events
- Assist plant leadership with employee production accountability and write ups.
- Advise or assist in the employee review process and employee personal and professional development
- Verify products leaving the facility meet the quality expectations of our customers
- Actively involved in process improvement, and guiding standard procedures to facilitate the most efficient flow of material, and job proficiency
- Assist with plant leadership in logistics, safety, and continuous improvement, batching to achieve short/long term goals of CDI, and plant
- Hold employees accountable to job detail, and standards set by CDI. Ability to have role Realignment meetings when necessary
- Crossover communication with next shift includes: Rework’s, LOTO events, near misses, safety issues, truck load schedule changes, on-hold orders
DAILY TASKS:
- Provide all production leads with a shared list of all priority orders shipping at the start of shift
- Performing safety/ Lean waste-walk during shift
- Communicating with logistics, quality control, sales team, and production regarding returned curbs. Aim to keep returned items on the floor for as little time as possible.
- Expediting orders through production assisting in efficient material flow– Moving WIP to each station, keeping walkways clear, throwing away garbage.
- Verify all start/end of day shift procedures are met by each department provided by documents within each work cell
- Assist, and delegate shop cleaning tasks outside of start/end of shift to departments.
Requirements
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / TRAINING / LICENSURE
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent
- Proven track record in managing production
- Demonstrated application of CDI, Inc. core values
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget
- Competent with technology, use of mobile devices, computers, scanners, printers
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
1. 3-5 years experience in production
2. Experience leading and directing the work of others
