Position Summary:  

The VP of Operations is a key leadership role and part of our Senior Leadership Team. This role will encompass 3 key responsibilities:

1. Oversight of all of Ascend’s operations including our practices, our satellite clinics and our virtual clinical support teams. This will include overseeing all of our operational (and clinical support) staff responsible for delighting patients; this includes Practice Managers, Health Concierges, Care Coordinators, Care Navigators and Mobile MA/RN teams. The SVP of Operations is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient experiences and optimizing practice performance in line with Ascend Medical’s mission to elevate mind, body, and soul. You will be a dyad leader to our Chief Medical Officer and our Clinical Chairs. Together you will have full accountability for performance in our clinics / service lines.

2. Operational integration of newly acquired practices – this will involve supporting the Integration teams to onboard new practices and/or individuals in a smooth and seamless way. This will be the primary driver of growth for the organization where collective responsibility for excellence will be a strategic priority.

3. Key partner in Ascend’s growth initiatives – We will look to build on your expertise, knowledge and relationships to support our growth agenda. Growth is often driven organically by our existing clinicians and staff, so working with your teams to deliver exceptional experiences (especially in onboarding) will allow us to turn our teams into brand ambassadors. We are excited to explore ways to partner with you to accelerate growth across our service lines.

Practices are partnering with or selling to Ascend so that they can elevate the level of care they offer, enhance the economics of their practice and improve the quality of their (and their staff’s) lifestyle. Embed best practices into EMR workflows where possible and develop video-based training materials where appropriate to enhance the efficiency and consistency of skill-building.

· Own Healthcare Compliance Protocols: Ensure that all practices not only meet but exceed the latest regulatory healthcare standards, maintaining a culture of compliance and safety across the organization. By staying ahead of regulatory changes, you'll protect our patients and team members while supporting Ascend Medical's commitment to excellence.

· Elevate Team Performance: Ideal candidates will be strong people leaders. You will develop a culture of performance, with clear performance metrics, regular huddles and training for leaders and staff to continually enhance their ability to perform. Your teams will have clarity around their roles, expectations and what it means (and takes) to win.

· Embrace Innovation & Excel in Change Management: Understand that care innovation is moving fast and develop a culture in which your teams feel comfortable in an environment that is constantly embracing innovation to deliver superior patient experiences.

· Drive practice P&L: Be accountable for growing existing practices and minimizing expenses so as to maximize profitability

· Integrate new practices: Work closely with the Integration team to determine how newly acquired practices should be integrated into Ascend’s ecosystem and partner with physician owners to hand off management of their practices to Ascend.

· Collaborate with Senior Leadership & Transformation Team: Work closely with senior leaders to develop and achieve company goals, providing operational expertise and guidance on key projects and systems.


Qualifications: The ideal candidate will offer: 

  • Master’s level degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, other related field. MBA preferred. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of industry-related experience. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of practice management experience (primary care a plus).
