Description

Position Summary:

 The Director of Nursing (DON), Region II, works within the local community and leads agency structure to ensure that the Family Connects NJ program for postpartum nursing home visits is implemented in accordance with established guidelines, model fidelity, and contract requirements. The DON, Region II, provides oversight to the Family Connects NJ Program in Middlesex, Somerset, and Union County.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide direct supervision and evaluation of nurse supervisors.
  • Participate in the Family Connects International (FCI) model required training and participate in ongoing training webinars and professional development trainings. Ensure the Family Connects programs are operated with fidelity to the FCI model.
  • Identify ongoing professional development needs and opportunities for nurse supervisors and nurse home visitors.
  • Perform Quality Assurance assessments of the program and support supervisors in continuous quality improvement implementation.
  • Lead Monthly Quality Assurance meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain community and provider referral sources for the program, along with nurse supervisors and support staff. Provide informational sessions about Family Connects to clinical and community partners about the program to increase awareness of the program.
  • Actively participate in preparation and monitoring of program budgets to ensure appropriate use of funds. Track spending and report on inventory of nursing supplies quarterly.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data input and utilization of web-based data systems for nursing documentation.
  • Effectively support nurse supervisors in analyzing complex problems and clinical case situations and consult with Medical Director as needed for clinical guidance.
  • Support coordination and collaboration with internal and external public health programs.
  • Evaluate implementing agency outcomes and interventions.
  • Prepare and submit program progress reports.
  • Handles other assignments as requested.


Working Conditions:

There are no unusual work conditions associated with this position. Employees are required to attend meetings at external locations and home visits; therefore, the candidate may experience external weather conditions. Noise level in the office is moderate. Requirements

Education: B.S. degree in nursing with current N.J. license. MSN, MPH, or other advanced degree preferred but not required. Five to eight years of experience providing maternal/child health service in community setting, home visitation, OB-GYN nursing, neonatal and/or pediatric nursing, labor and delivery, adult mental health, or closely related field.


Qualifications:

  • Two to three years of program management/supervision experience.
  • Knowledge and experience relating to the field of non-profit, maternal child health and education is strongly preferred. Current or compact licensure in the state of New Jersey, current CPR certification.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, communities, and organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Highly collaborative styles, skilled at relationship and consensus building
  • Strong initiative and follow through with enthusiastic positive attitude
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various agencies and stakeholders
  • Valid Driver’s license with the ability to provide proof of ongoing automobile insurance coverage is required. This position will entail reimbursable local and statewide travel utilizing personal vehicle.


Physical Requirements:

Employees are required to occasionally lift up to fifty pounds of materials or equipment.

$130,000
