SHINE Technologies is seeking a Training & Compliance Specialist who will be responsible for administering, tracking, and documenting employee training across SHINE Technologies. This role ensures that all required onboarding, corporate, safety, quality, and regulatory training is accurately assigned, completed, documented, and maintained in SHINE’s Learning Management System (Absorb) in accordance with internal procedures and external regulatory requirements, including NRC expectations.
The Training & Compliance Specialist serves as the central point of coordination between Human Resources, Quality, Safety, Radiation Safety, and functional leaders to ensure training compliance, audit readiness, and complete training records throughout the employee lifecycle.
The base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $80,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Training and Compliance Specialist:
Learning Management System Administration
- Administer SHINE’s Learning Management System, including:
- Creating and maintaining employee training accounts
- Assigning required training curricula based on role, department, and training matrices
- Updating training assignments due to job changes, promotions, or changes in work scope
- Setting up new courses and curricula within the LMS
- Revising and updating training materials within existing courses and curricula
- Maintain onboarding training assignments.
- Monitor training completion status and proactively follow up on overdue, upcoming, or recurring training requirements (e.g., annual Radiation Safety training).
- Manage the contract and relationship with SHINE’s LMS provider (Absorb), including renewals, licensing, and vendor support.
- Manage Absorb’s available features and administrative tools, evaluating and configuring system capabilities to support evolving training needs.
- Administer SHINE’s interactive computer-based training (CBT) development system.
- Maintain SHINE’s Training Procedures, ensuring documentation remains current, accurate, and aligned with regulatory and internal requirements.
Training Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure training records are accurately documented and maintained.
- Partner with Document Control / Records Management to ensure training records are properly submitted, controlled, and retained.
- Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and external audits by providing training records, reports, and supporting documentation.
New Hire Orientation & University of SHINE
- Participate in new hire orientation to introduce employees to training.
- Ensure new employees are enrolled in required training within established onboarding timeframes.
- Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding training requirements and LMS usage.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work cross-functionally with HR, Quality, Safety, Radiation Safety, IT, and operational leaders to:
- Validate role-based and function-specific training requirements
- Ensure training assignments align with regulatory and procedural requirements
- Track completion of required training across departments
- Support Responsible Managers in understanding and meeting their training responsibilities under SHINE procedures.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS), preferably Absorb or similar.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage highly regulated documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow up effectively across teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Office environment with climate-controlled conditions.
- Prolonged sitting (often 6-8 hours daily)
- Extensive computer use, including using a mouse, typing and viewing screens for long periods of time.
- Minimal lifting and carrying (usually under 10-15 pounds).
- Standard business hours with occasional extended hour during hiring peaks.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
