Reports To: Office Manager / General Manager / CFO
Schedule: Full-Time Position
M-F (7:30AM - 4:30PM)
Summary: The Accounting Specialist assists the Office Manager to process and generate financial data for all dealership
departments, which together represent the accurate financial condition of the business. Provides accurate reporting to the
Office Manger, General Manager, and CFO and is responsible for backing up the Office Manager with accounting and
administrative functions.
Essential Duties:
- Maintains and supports all posted documents, including time records, vehicle deals, commissions, additions, and changes to the inventory.
- Prepares, verifies, and processes daily bank deposits while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
- Receives, balances, and reconlines cash, checks, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
- Reconciles assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Supports the Office Manager by preparing accurate monthly journal entries, schedules, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Assists the Office Manager with month-end closing processes.
- Serves as a backup to the Office Manager by learning and performing all assigned responsibilities as needed.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to dealership operations.
- Stays current on industry regulations and accounting requirements.
- Compiles information and prepares reports as requested by management.
- Cross-trains a qualified backup to ensure departmental coverage.
- Maintains a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality when handling financial information.
- Prioritizes multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Fosters a positive and professional work environment with employee morale.
- Remains fully compliant with Company HR training.
- Maintain professional and courteous attitude, wardrobe, and grooming.
- Other tasks as assigned.
