Description
About the Role: B-P Supply is looking for a TAC (Tubing Anchor Catcher) Repair Technician to join our pump shop team. This role is responsible for the inspection, disassembly, repair, and reassembly of tubing anchor catchers to meet operational and safety standards. We're open to two paths: an experienced technician who can hit the ground running or a hard-working candidate with strong mechanical aptitude who we'll train from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming TAC units for wear, damage, and functionality issues
- Disassemble units and evaluate individual components (slips, cones, mandrels, springs) for reuse or replacement
- Perform precision measurements to determine tolerances and fit
- Reassemble units to spec, ensuring proper torque, alignment, and function testing
- Maintain accurate repair logs and documentation for each unit processed
- Follow all shop SOPs and safety protocols, including proper PPE use
- Keep work area, tools, and equipment clean and organized
- Communicate with shop supervisor on parts needs, delays, or quality concerns
- Assist with other pump shop repair work as needed (rod pumps, valve assemblies, etc.)
Requirements
Requirements — Trainee Candidates
- No prior TAC experience required
- Mechanical aptitude (auto, machine shop, construction, or similar background a plus)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working with hand and power tools
- Understanding of basic computer programs, excel, word...
- Able to follow detailed instructions and retain training
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand, bend, and work with hands for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a shop environment (noise, grease, varying temperatures)

Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 7 AM–5 PM, occasional overtime
