Food Service Manager
Description


Personal Touch Food Service, Inc. is seeking a motivated and experienced Food Service Manager to lead daily kitchen and cafeteria operations in a school setting. The ideal candidate will ensure that meals are prepared and served safely, efficiently, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while promoting a positive dining environment for students and staff.


Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily food service operations, including meal planning, preparation, and service

Supervise, schedule, and train kitchen staff

Promote teamwork

Ensure compliance with USDA, state, and local health and safety regulations

Monitor inventory levels and place food and supply orders

Maintain accurate records for production, inventory, temperature logs, and staff schedules

Handle cashiering and point-of-sale system oversight

Collaborate with school administration and Personal Touch leadership

Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness throughout the kitchen and serving areas

Work effectively in a busy, loud, and fast-paced cafeteria environment

Requirements


Culinary or Food Service Management degree a plus

Minimum of 2-5 years of food service manager experience, preferably in a school or institutional setting

Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (ServSafe certification preferred)

Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods

Must pass background checks in accordance with NYS and school district requirements
