We're looking for a strategic, customer-focused, and collaborative Product Program Manager to drive volunteer success, increase participation, and deliver innovative product programs that strengthen our mission and create lasting impact across Northern New Jersey. 

  

The Product Program Manager supports the Director of Product Program in the planning, implementation, and administration of the council's product programs. In collaboration with Community Engagement, Membership and Troop Support team, they build and maintain strong partnerships with Service Unit volunteers, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure successful program delivery, volunteer engagement, and girl participation throughout the council. This role blends operational excellence with business insight, leveraging data, volunteer relationships, and cross-functional collaboration to increase participation, optimize revenue, and enhance the overall Girl Scout member experience.


Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Supports the Director of Product Program in the administration of the annual operating budget and day-to-day operations of council product programs; ensures the accuracy of product program transactions and the safeguarding of assets.
  • Drives achievement of product program sales and participation goals by managing initiatives, analyzing performance data, and implementing targeted growth strategies to increase girl and troop engagement.
  • Continuously evaluates product program performance, industry trends, and member needs, making data-informed      recommendations to the Director of Product Program on new markets, innovative methodologies, process improvements, and strategic initiatives that drive sustainable growth and operational excellence.
  • Builds and sustains proactive, relationship-driven partnerships with Service Unit volunteers, using data and engagement insights to provide tailored coaching, support, and recognition that drives participation and retention. This partnership works with them to promote sales success, support effective execution of product program strategies, and foster volunteer engagement.
  • Attends and facilitates annual training programs for staff and volunteers that highlight the girl program aspects of the product programs and promote a high level of troop and girl participation.
  • Attends Service Unit meetings throughout the year to provide product program updates, training, support, and guidance to volunteers while delivering data-informed insights, identifying opportunities for growth, and aligning volunteers to council-wide goals.
  • Partners with departments across the organization to develop and support volunteer recruitment and engagement strategies that strengthen Product Program participation.
  • Acts as liaison between Service Unit volunteers, the core team of volunteers, and the Director of Product Program to support product program implementation, communication, and utilization of product program databases.
  • Provides support, guidance,      and materials necessary to ensure successful product programs.
  • Assists in the collection of all product program funds and ensures that all delinquent accounts are settled.
  • Provides professional and quality customer service to members, volunteers, staff, and other community contacts.
  • Contributes to the development of a unified, council-wide member experience by aligning product program participation with broader goals including membership growth, program engagement, and retention.
  • Champions inclusion, and belonging by fostering inclusive volunteer engagement, ensuring equitable access to product program opportunities, and supporting a welcoming environment where every girl, volunteer, and staff member feels valued and respected.
  • Provides cross-functional support and serves as a backup to the Director of Product Program and other team members, ensuring continuity of operations and seamless delivery of product program initiatives during peak periods, absences, or      changing business needs.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Staff members are accountable for achieving their performance goals that collectively enable GSNNJ to reach our council goals. Each staff member is expected to take an active role in all areas of operations, especially by being alert to opportunities to identify and engage potential volunteers, girl members, donors, vendors, collaborators, etc. and providing contact information to the appropriate staff person.

Requirements

  

  • Associate degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field.
  • Bilingual skills preferred
  • At least 2+ years of experience in a related field, customer relationship management (CRM), volunteer management, community organizing or customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management capability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of revenue drivers, customer engagement, and program performance
  • Ability to think out of the box and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with volunteers and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, presentations, and volunteer training sessions.
  • Membership in GSUSA is required (cost for annual staff membership is covered by GSNNJ).
  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel throughout GSNNJ jurisdiction as needed, and especially around peak cookie and fall product season.
