Social Media Consultant

Position Overview 

The social media consultant is responsible for content creation and management of Allies’ social media accounts. The social media consultant will work with our marketing and communications manager to develop a comprehensive social media strategy for the organization, including a content calendar and posting schedule, that aligns with Allies’ brand guidelines and marketing. The social media consultant reports to the marketing and communications manager and will work collaboratively with other agency staff on content creation.

To improve health and well-being, Allies provides integrated medical care, supportive human services, and community-based education for individuals living with, or at risk of HIV, viral hepatitis, and sexually transmitted infections.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms 
  • 10-15 grid posts/month 
  • 15-25 stories per month 
  • Create and edit written, video and photo content 
  • Attend Allies events and outreach activities and produce live social media content 
  • Maintain unified brand voice across social media channels 
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications manager to create a social media strategy and posting schedule aligned with the organization's goals and objectives 
  • Collaborate with Allies staff to gather relevant content and ensure accuracy and relevance 
  • Monitor social media channels and respond to comments, messages, and mentions 
  • Review analytics and create reports on key metrics 
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies

Requirements

Job Requirements 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

The social media consultant should have demonstrated experience in the following areas: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create engaging content tailored to different social media platforms and target audiences 
  • Familiarity with social media editing tools and applications, including Canva 
  • In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok as well as emerging platforms 
  • Familiarity with social media management tools, analytics platforms and content creation software 
  • Strong understanding of social media best practices, trends and emerging technologies 
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines 

A bachelor of arts in marketing as communications or a related field is required, and 1-3 years of experience in the field is preferred.  

This is a contract position that pays $40/hr. not to exceed $1,500 per month.?
