DEPARTMENT: SHIPPING JOB TITLE: FORKLIFT OPERATOR


PRODUCTION STANDARDS:

· Perform expected volume of work safely and efficiently

· Follow instructions/directions from Supervisor or Crew Leader.

· Store and transport product within warehouse and to auxiliary warehouses.

· Count finished goods.

· Consolidate partial pallets and partially filled storage locations.

· Assist in maintaining cleanliness of warehouse.

· Make quality decisions about pallets and finished goods.

· Properly check and maintain forklift.

· Repair damaged cases as needed.

· Stretch-wrap additional pallets of product as required.

· Ensure each load has the correct item codes and lot codes.

· Maintain proper documentation of ALL product movement.

· Properly fill out Drivers Daily Forklift Checklist.

· Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS: Fast paced work environment. Exposure to outside elements. Safety glasses are required at all times while driving forklift. Safety gloves are required for re-fueling.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES: Read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English. Perform basic math functions. Must hold and maintain a current forklift operator’s license and successfully complete the required forklift training. Written test may be required. Be able to lift 50 lbs. and carry up to 5 ft. Must possess the ability to learn, understand and use the Inventory Control Radio Frequency (RF) system as it pertains to the job’s required production standards.


HELPFUL PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Forklift operator and warehouse/shipping experience.


TRAINING PERIOD: Ten (10) working days (min)
