Job purpose
This role supports the refrigeration division by providing technical expertise, sales estimating, and application support across customer and internal teams. The position is responsible for preparing quotes and proposals, assisting sales efforts, and contributing to the growth of refrigeration product lines within branches. It serves as a key technical resource for customers and internal stakeholders, offering troubleshooting, product selection guidance, and system knowledge. The role also strengthens customer relationships and helps improve operational efficiency through collaboration with product management and cross-functional teams.
Duties and responsibilities
Sales & Estimating
- Prepare quotes, estimates, and proposals for refrigeration projects
- Support the sales team with technical product selection and application guidance
- Actively assist in growing refrigeration sales within the division and at branches
Technical Support
- Provide application support and troubleshooting assistance to customers
- Serve as a subject matter resource on refrigeration systems and equipment
- Develop strong working knowledge of company product lines
Product Management / Division Support
- Support product line growth and alignment within the refrigeration division
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve workflows and efficiency
- Help streamline division responsibilities to allow for more focused roles and productivity improvements
Customer Engagement
- Work closely with contractors, engineers, and end users
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Support both inside and outside sales efforts
Schedule:
Typical office hours Monday-Friday
40 hours a week
Compensation:
$65-80K Annually, DOE, plus generous bonuses
Behavioral Competencies
- Strong technical background in commercial refrigeration systems
- Ability and willingness to quickly learn new product lines
- Experience in quoting, estimating, or refrigeration sales preferred
- Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience
- 5+ years of refrigeration industry experience with demonstrated progression in each role
- HVAC/R distribution or contractor experience is preferred
Working conditions
Typical Monday-Friday office hours. This role is primarily office-based with regular computer use. The position may require occasional travel to customer sites, branch locations, or job sites. Work is performed in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities. The role may involve occasional exposure to job site conditions such as mechanical rooms, rooftops, or construction environments, depending on customer needs.
Physical requirements
The role is generally sedentary, requiring extended periods of sitting, typing, and screen use, with occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (typically up to 20–30 lbs.). Standard vision, hearing, and communication abilities are required to interact with customers, interpret technical documents, and participate in meetings.
