Description

Red Dot Corporation, the leading manufacturer of premium mobile HVAC systems and components for heavy-duty commercial, construction, agricultural, and military vehicles, is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead its U.S. procurement organization across both of its sites in Puyallup, WA and Memphis, TN.


Reporting to the Senior Director of Supply Chain, the Procurement Manager leads a team of procurement professionals responsible for supporting production, aftermarket, and new product introduction (NPI) across both sites. This position is responsible for developing the team, strengthening supplier partnerships, executing procurement strategy, and ensuring the organization has the people, processes, and supplier relationships needed to support current customer commitments and future business growth.


The role balances operational execution with strategic leadership - setting departmental priorities, developing talent, improving procurement processes, and driving supplier performance across the Puyallup and Memphis operations.


Key Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Red Dot's U.S. Procurement team across both sites.

• Build an accountable, collaborative, and engaged team culture grounded in continuous improvement.

• Establish departmental goals, priorities, and performance expectations aligned with company objectives.

• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and feedback, and develop succession plans.

• Develop standardized onboarding, training, and best practices.

• Allocate departmental resources to support changing business priorities while fostering employee retention.


Procurement Operations

• Lead procurement operations supporting production, aftermarket (AM), and new product introduction (NPI) demand.

• Oversee purchase-order execution across OEM, AM, and NPI, and direct resolution of supplier performance issues, material shortages, and supply disruptions.

• Establish, review, and drive departmental performance metrics and reporting.

• Ensure master-data and blanket-release discipline so ERP/MRP planning signals remain accurate and trustworthy.

• Standardize procurement processes across both sites.

• Partner with Planning and Operations to respond to changing customer demand.


Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Development

• Execute procurement strategy in partnership with the Senior Director of Supply Chain.

• Lead supplier negotiations involving pricing, contracts, lead times, and capacity.

• Develop strategic supplier relationships and lead Quarterly Business Reviews and Executive Supplier Reviews.

• Manage supplier scorecards and improvement initiatives.

• Support supplier qualification, transitions, and supply-base optimization.

• Reduce supply risk through supplier diversification and category management.


Business Partnership

• Partner with Operations, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Sales, and Program Management.

• Support new product introductions through supplier readiness.

• Participate in S&OP, capacity planning, and executive business reviews.

• Communicate procurement performance, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.

• Represent Procurement as a trusted business partner across the organization.


Process Excellence & Systems

• Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the procurement organization.

• Support optimization of the current ERP/MRP system and future ERP implementations.

• Promote data integrity and standardized procurement processes.

• Develop procurement reporting and analytics.

• Encourage Lean principles throughout the procurement organization.


Supply Chain Risk & Business Continuity

• Monitor supplier capacity, financial health, and operational performance.

• Develop contingency plans for critical suppliers and reduce sole-source dependency.

• Partner with stakeholders to improve supply chain resilience.

• Escalate emerging supply risks before customer impact.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.

• ASCM/APICS, ISM, or equivalent certification preferred.


Experience 

• 7+ years of progressive procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience within manufacturing.

• 3+ years leading procurement or purchasing teams.

• Demonstrated experience developing teams and leading strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations.

• Strong ERP/MRP experience within a manufacturing environment.

• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience preferred.

Salary Grade** for this role is as follows:

Min: $100,000/annual

Mid: $112,000/annual

Max: $125,000/annual

*Subject to all local, state and federal regulatory limits
