About the Role
Advantage Capital is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our 10+ person accounting team. This role will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial reporting, while supporting our broader efforts to deliver forward-looking insights to leadership to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to process improvement, and is excited to work in an environment that increasingly leverages automation and AI to drive efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Prepare and maintain supporting documentation, ensuring audit-readiness throughout the year
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Prepare quarterly financial statements and support peer review processes to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support month-end and quarter-end close processes
• Mentor and provide guidance to staff accountants, reviewing their work and supporting their professional development
• Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and take on tasks as needed to support broader team goals
• Intellectual curiosity and sharp critical thinking skills to identify and resolve complex problems
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience with AI tools, particularly in building or deploying agents to support accounting workflows
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Three to five years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
• CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
