Jones-Hamilton Co., a leading chemical manufacturer, is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Accountant I to join our finance team. In this role, you'll be key to supporting the day-to-day accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes for timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain financial records, including journal entries, invoices, and expense reports.
  • Assist with the annual budget process.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Participate in audits and provide documentation as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining the General Ledger and record transactions to ensure account accuracy.
  • Provide backup support and training for accounting software systems.
  • Manage fixed asset records, tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience.
  • Manufacturing, distribution, or chemical industry experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Proficient with financial systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must pass drug screening as required.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Working Conditions:

  • In-person office-based position with standard business hours.
  • Occasional overtime may be required during month-end, year-end, or peak workload periods.
  • Extended periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Frequent use of accounting software, Excel, and other office applications.
  • Requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and virtually.
