Summary
The Vice President of Cloud Infrastructure is a senior technology leader responsible for defining and executing the organization's cloud strategy, infrastructure architecture, and platform operations. This executive oversees the design, implementation, security, scalability, and optimization of cloud environments across public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms. The role ensures the cloud infrastructure supports business growth, innovation, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance while delivering high levels of availability, performance, and cost efficiency.
The VP of Cloud Infrastructure leads multidisciplinary teams responsible for cloud engineering, platform operations, network infrastructure, automation, site reliability, and cloud security. Working closely with executive leadership, application development teams, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders, this leader develops technology roadmaps, drives cloud transformation initiatives, manages vendor relationships, and establishes governance frameworks. The position requires a strategic mindset combined with strong technical expertise in cloud technologies, infrastructure modernization, DevOps practices, and enterprise architecture.
Success in this role is measured by the ability to build resilient and scalable cloud platforms, enhance operational efficiency through automation, manage risk and compliance requirements, control infrastructure costs, and enable business innovation through reliable technology services. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and organizational transformation skills are essential to driving enterprise-wide cloud adoption and achieving long-term business objectives.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Engineering or related field, required or related work experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Develop and execute the enterprise cloud infrastructure strategy aligned with business objectives, growth plans, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Lead the architecture, design, deployment, and operation of public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Establish and maintain a scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure capable of supporting enterprise applications and services.
- Drive cloud modernization, migration, and platform transformation programs across the organization.
- Oversee cloud engineering, infrastructure operations, network services, site reliability engineering (SRE), and platform teams.
- Define infrastructure standards, governance frameworks, policies, and best practices to ensure consistency and operational excellence.
- Partner with cybersecurity leadership to implement cloud security controls, risk management processes, and compliance requirements.
- Develop and manage disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience strategies to minimize operational disruptions.
- Champion automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), DevOps, and self-service capabilities to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Monitor and optimize cloud performance, reliability, scalability, and cost management across all environments.
- Establish service-level objectives (SLOs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational metrics to measure infrastructure effectiveness.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, technology teams, and business stakeholders to prioritize infrastructure investments and strategic initiatives.
- Lead vendor management activities, including contract negotiations, technology partnerships, and cloud service provider relationships.
- Manage infrastructure budgets, forecasting, resource planning, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, data privacy requirements, and corporate governance standards.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing technical leadership teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide executive-level reporting and recommendations regarding infrastructure strategy, operational health, risk posture, and technology investments.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and organizational growth initiatives through scalable infrastructure planning and integration activities.
- Serve as a key advisor to the CIO, CTO, and executive leadership team on cloud infrastructure strategy, technology risks, and future-state architecture.

This position requires up to 20% travel, typically less than 20% over the course of implementation projects.

The estimated base rate range for this position: $265,000 annually. The actual annual range is based on fair market value based on your geographical location, skills, role requirements, and responsibilities. This position also offers a variable bonus based on company and individual performance and employee stock options. This posted compensation is a good faith and reasonable estimate. Denovo reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the selected candidate's qualifications.
