Join our Joint Commission-accredited residential treatment program providing evidence-based therapy to teens ages 12–17 in a 24-hour therapeutic milieu, with a specialization in neurodivergent presentations including ASD, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and social communication challenges. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse in our Neurodivergent Program, you are embedded in the daily life of the program — providing essential support of the psychiatric and medical needs of adolescents while collaborating with psychiatrists and clinicians around the clock.

Position Summary
Muir Wood is seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our multidisciplinary treatment team in Petaluma, CA supporting our Neurodivergent Program. Our residents include teens with anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and emotional dysregulation. Our program is designed to support their unique strengths within a structured, affirming environment. The LVN is essential in supporting the medical and psychiatric needs of adolescents in a residential treatment setting by conducting health assessments, administering medications, monitoring client wellness, and collaborating with psychiatrists and clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete nursing screenings and assessments for new admissions according to program protocols.
- Administer, monitor, and document medications in accordance with physician orders and company policies.
- Supervise medication distribution and self-administration processes for residential clients.
- Monitor client health status and communicate concerns to the treatment team.
- Coordinate referrals and linkage to outside medical services when necessary.
- Provide individual and group education regarding medications and health-related topics.
- Maintain accurate medical records, medication logs, and client documentation.
- Assist psychiatrists and other medical providers as needed.
- Partner with Operations leadership to order and maintain medical supplies and equipment.
- Participate in weekly clinical and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Cross-train and support other departments and programs as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current and unrestricted California LVN license.
- Minimum of 2 years of LVN experience required.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Successful completion of health screening, TB clearance, and background check.
Preferred:
- Experience with autistic teens, ADHD, sensory processing differences, or neurodivergent populations (ages 12-17)
- Experience in behavioral health, mental health, psychiatry, substance use treatment, or residential treatment settings.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and adolescent development.
