What you’ll do…

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Expeditor / Buyer to support our rapidly growing manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day flow of purchased materials required to support production schedules while working closely with suppliers, planning, warehouse, manufacturing, and procurement teams.


This position blends tactical purchasing, supplier coordination, material expediting, and production support to ensure components arrive on time and manufacturing disruptions are minimized. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively across functions, and has a strong sense of urgency and ownership.

Requirements

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Managing open purchase orders and proactively expediting suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials required for production.
  • Monitoring shortages, supplier commits, and delivery risks while escalating critical issues to Procurement Specialists and Procurement Management.
  • Coordinating closely with Manufacturing, Planning, Warehouse, and Receiving teams to align material priorities with production schedules.
  • Supporting procurement activities including purchase order placement, acknowledgements, delivery updates, and supplier communication.
  • Tracking inbound shipments and coordinating logistics activities to support critical delivery timelines.
  • Maintaining accurate ERP system data including supplier promised dates, order status, and material availability.
  • Working directly with suppliers to resolve shipment delays, shortages, documentation discrepancies, and invoice-related issues.
  • Assisting Procurement Specialists with tactical sourcing activities, RFQs, and supplier follow-up as needed.
  • Supporting continuous improvement efforts related to inventory accuracy, supplier performance, and procurement processes.
  • Ensuring all procurement and expediting activities align with company quality standards, safety procedures, and EROCK Core Values.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations with complex material requirements.
  • Are highly responsive and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Possess strong communication skills and can effectively work with suppliers, manufacturing personnel, and cross-functional teams.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly and urgency matters.
  • Have experience with ERP/MRP systems and understand purchasing, inventory, and material flow processes.

What you’ll need:

  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, expediting, materials coordination, or supply chain support within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Business Central, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret production schedules, purchase orders, and engineering-related documentation.
  • Strong follow-up skills with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset.
  • Experience coordinating suppliers, shipments, and delivery schedules preferred.
