What We Are Looking For


We are seeking Retail Sales Trainer to join our team. This position reports directly to the EVP of Retail and will work closely with a highly collaborative team of professionals. 

The role requires daily communication with the EVP of Retail and cross-functional collaboration to support the overall business by ensuring store employee are well trained to provide great service to our customers and drive sales. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong passion for retail sales, a passion for training, organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a positive, can-do attitude with a good sense of humor.

  

Position Overview


The Retail Sales Trainer is responsible for building the selling culture of Go! Retail Group — creating and driving a consistent selling model, partnering with Merchandising on product knowledge training, and bringing brand experiences to life through in-store events and activations. This role owns the Voice of the Customer (VOC) program and uses that feedback, along with field observation, to continuously sharpen how Team members sell and serve. The Retail Sales Trainer also builds and delivers the training and onboarding program for store Team members, including hands-on training in stores, ensuring every new hire and every store format has a clear, consistent path to success.

  

Essential Functions:


Selling Model & Sales Culture

• Creates, builds, and continuously refines Go! Retail Group's core selling model — a shared framework and language for how Team members engage and sell across every store format.

• Drives adoption of the selling model in the field through training, certification, and ongoing reinforcement.

• Partners with Regional Directors and store leadership to reinforce selling behaviors and coach through field visits.

• Uses sales results and field observation to identify where the selling model isn't landing, and adjusts training and messaging accordingly.


Product Knowledge & Merchandising Partnership

• Partners with Merchandising to design and deliver product knowledge training tied to new launches, seasonal assortments, and key categories.

• Translates merchandising priorities and product stories into training content that helps Team members sell with confidence and accuracy.

• Supports the planning and execution of in-store events, activations, and experiences that bring products and brand moments to life for customers.

• Evaluates the impact of product knowledge training and events on sell-through and customer engagement, adjusting approach as needed.


Voice of the Customer

• Owns the Voice of the Customer (VOC) program, including how customer feedback is captured, measured, and reported across stores.

• Analyzes VOC data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities, and translates findings into training content or process recommendations.

• Reports VOC results and insights to leadership on a regular cadence, tying customer feedback back to selling behaviors and store execution.

• Partners with Store Operations and Regional Directors to close the loop on customer feedback at the store level.


Training & Onboarding Program

• Designs and builds a comprehensive training and onboarding program for new store Team members, including store manager onboarding.

• Delivers training directly — in stores, virtually, and in group settings — including hands-on training visits to support new store openings and major rollouts.

• Builds and maintains a library of training materials, guides, job aids, and e-learning content that store leaders can use to train their own Teams.

• Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs through observation, feedback, and performance data, and continuously improves content and delivery.

• Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.

  

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: 

• 3–5+ years of experience in retail sales training, learning and development, or field training, ideally within a multi-unit retail environment.

• Demonstrated experience designing and rolling out a selling model, sales methodology, or comparable training framework.

• Experience building onboarding or new-hire training programs from the ground up.

• Strong facilitation and presentation skills; comfortable leading in-person training with store Teams of varying experience levels.

• Experience partnering with Merchandising, Marketing, or Product teams to translate priorities into training content.

• Comfortable analyzing customer feedback/VOC data and translating it into practical recommendations.

• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging training materials.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Communications, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams; experience with e-learning or LMS platforms is a plus.

• Positive, energetic presence with the ability to build credibility and rapport with store Teams and Operators.

• Willingness to travel extensively for store visits, training delivery, and new store openings, approximately 50% of the time.
