Naples Soap Company is a growing Florida-based retailer of natural skin care products. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our Headquarters team in Fort Myers. This opportunity is open to local candidates only. Relocation assistance is not available.
In this hands-on role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring our stores and warehouse have the products and supplies needed to operate successfully. You'll work closely with vendors, monitor inventory levels, place purchase orders, and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies while supporting our continued growth.
What You'll Do
? Review and maintain purchasing files and records (purchase orders, vendor correspondence, etc.) to ensure compliance with company policies and ensure documentation is available and current.
? Place purchase orders respecting vendor/supplier lead times and internal approval requirements.
? Actively monitor potential out-of-stock scenarios (including non-inventory supplies) and communicate proactively to mitigate downstream impact.
? Assist in analyzing demand and forecasting to support an optimized buy plan, including non-inventory supplies.
? Maintain the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
? Support inventory performance tracking to help maximize fill rate availability and minimize stockouts.
? Identify opportunities for cost savings and escalate recommendations to leadership.
? Coordinate the engagement of contractors, facilities vendors, and laborers as needed (e.g. facilities repairs, service providers across retail locations and warehouse).
? Respond to inquiries from internal and external sources by providing information, direction, or appropriate referrals.
? Continually improve purchasing methods and processes as directed.
? Special projects and/or other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
? Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, economics, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
? Minimum of three years of work experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field preferred.
? Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
? Computer literacy is a MUST and support of paperless processes.
? Experience with ERP or other Inventory Management Systems crucial
? Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
? Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
? Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to multitask.
- Valid Florida Driver's License
Technical Skills Qualifications
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Experience with ERP, purchasing, inventory, or accounting software.
- Comfortable working in a paperless environment and learning new software systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and move products and supplies as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and occasionally push carts weighing up to 100 pounds (on wheels).
- Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments.
