Sales Operations Manager
Description

Davis Furniture is seeking a detail-oriented, analytically driven Business Analyst to join our Sales & Marketing team. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role designed for someone who thrives at the intersection of data, process, and people. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales & Marketing, this person will serve as a critical resource across the organization — analyzing sales data to inform product and business decisions, identifying and documenting process improvements, and providing hands-on operational support to our sales and customer service teams. A significant near-term priority for this role will be contributing to our Salesforce implementation and driving adoption of the platform as the primary tool our sales organization uses to manage quotes, projects, and forecasting. The ideal candidate brings a rare combination of analytical rigor, operational versatility, and sound business judgment.

Requirements

Data Analysis & Business Insights

  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities across product lines, finishes, and customer segments
  • Evaluate special and custom product requests to assess viability for inclusion in the standard offering
  • Provide data-driven recommendations on product and finish enhancements, additions, or discontinuations
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools and dashboards that support ongoing decision-making for sales and marketing leadership

Process Analysis, Improvement & Documentation

  • Audit existing sales and operational workflows to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and measure process improvements
  • Create and maintain clear, comprehensive process documentation — including standard operating procedures, workflow guides, and training materials — ensuring institutional knowledge is captured and accessible
  • Support change management efforts by communicating process changes and providing user support during transition
  • Establish and maintain process controls to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across sales and operational workflows — including version control of documentation, adherence to established procedures, and regular review cycles to keep processes current and effective

Salesforce Implementation & Enablement

  • Serve as a key contributor to Salesforce implementation — partnering with leadership, the sales team, and any implementation partners to configure the platform in a way that reflects how Davis sells
  • Lead the documentation of Salesforce processes, workflows, and user guidelines — creating training materials and standard operating procedures that help the sales organization adopt and use the platform consistently and confidently
  • Champion Salesforce as the central tool for managing quotes, projects, and sales forecasting — working closely with Regional Sales Managers to drive meaningful adoption and ensure the platform delivers actionable visibility for leadership
  • Identify gaps between how Salesforce is being used and how it should be used; develop and implement corrective training, workflow adjustments, or process controls to close those gaps over time
  • Build and maintain Salesforce reports and dashboards that give sales leadership real-time visibility into pipeline health, quote activity, project status, and forecast accuracy

Sales Support & Operations

  • Serve as a versatile support resource for Regional Sales Managers — assisting with project coordination, opportunity tracking, and internal follow-up
  • Provide backup support to the Customer Service team as needed, including quote generation and order processing
  • Assist with the management and organization of sales resources, pricing data, and product information
  • Collaborate with Marketing on sales enablement content, field intelligence, and project-based initiatives
  • Coordination of project samples and manage the return of those samples in an organized and timely manner

Qualifications

Required

  • 3–7+ years of experience in a business analyst, sales operations, or related analytical role
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Strong process documentation skills — ability to map, standardize, and communicate workflows for diverse audiences
  • Proficiency with data and reporting tools (Excel required; Power BI, ERP reporting, or similar tools a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously

Preferred

  • Experience in the furniture, interior products, or commercial contract industry
  • Background in or exposure to sales operations within a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Salesforce experience strongly preferred; exposure to CRM implementation, configuration, or adoption initiatives is a significant plus
  • Experience supporting or working alongside an independent sales rep network
