Description
The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely operating a tractor and trailer while delivering pallets of product and dunnage to appropriate location in a timely manner.
Job Qualifications:
- This position is considered safety sensitive due to the required operation of motor vehicles. Safe motor vehicle operation requires a constant state of alertness and awareness of the surroundings at all times.
- Perform Pre-trip and Post trip inspections on assigned vehicles
- Drop and Hook trailers
- Maintain accurate records of load placement on the lot
- Maintain clear communication with warehouse and distribution personnel
- Operate transport truck and trailer and box trucks exercising extreme caution to ensure the safety of customers and employees
- To comply with all local, state, county and federal laws set by the Department of Transportation
- Foster relationships with team members and other personnel to eliminate any potential issues
- Perform various duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to read, speak, write and understand English to perform basic math skills (Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Valid Driver’s License for your state of residency and adhere to driver qualification program
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or permit (Class A)
- The ability to pass and maintain D.O.T. physical requirements
- Previous Tractor Trailer combination experience preferred
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be self-motivated with a high degree of integrity and be able to perform job duties with minimal supervision
- Must maintain a neat uniform and professional appearance
