Description

This is a fulltime position for our Washington, NC location. 

M-F 8:30am-5:00pm


The Account Manager is a client-focused insurance professional responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of Commercial Lines Property and Casualty accounts. This role partners closely with Client Advisors, carriers, and internal teams to ensure accurate policy execution, timely renewals, and high-quality client service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while delivering exceptional service and advocacy to clients.

The Senior Account Manager  regularly interacts with new and existing clients as needed on the most complex accounts.

Requirements

   

  • Manage a complex book of Property & Casualty business, including large, multi-state, or specialty-focused accounts.
  • Lead   and execute all new business, renewal, endorsement, and cancellation   workflows with precision and within established timelines.
  • Oversee and proactively manage renewal strategies, collaborating with Client Advisors   on marketing approaches, coverage design, and negotiation tactics.
  • Serve   as a technical expert, providing guidance on coverage interpretation, carrier   requirements, underwriting considerations, and best practices.
  • Conduct advanced risk and exposure analysis, including loss-run evaluation, trend   identification, and coverage recommendations.
  • Prepare   and review applications, supplemental forms, and underwriting submissions to   ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Market   accounts to carriers, perform online rating, coordinate negotiations, and   secure competitive terms aligned with client needs.
  • Bind coverage in compliance with carrier authority and ensure all subjectivities   are satisfied.
  • Review issued policies for accuracy and coordinate corrections while maintaining   quality control standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication,   responsiveness, and strategic support.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, carrier appetite, and   regulatory updates to advise clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in mentoring and supporting Account Managers and Account Assistants as   needed.
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives, process improvements, and team success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge Skills   and Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Expert knowledge of Commercial Lines Property & Casualty products, coverages, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to handle escalated or complex issues.
  • Exceptional client service and relationship-management skills, with executive-level professionalism.
  • Advanced organizational and time-management abilities, capable of coordinating high-volume and high-complexity work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, carriers, and clients.
  • High degree of integrity, accountability, and leadership presence.
  • Insurance designations (CISR, CIC, ARM, CPCU, etc.) strongly preferred.

  

Education and/or   Work Experience Requirements:

  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license (required).
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of insurance experience, with demonstrated success anaging complex accounts.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree strongly preferred.
  • Professional insurance designations (CIC, CRM, CPCU, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior team members strongly preferred.

  

Physical  Requirements:

  • Ability  to perform essential job functions in compliance with applicable federal,   state, and local regulations. 
  • Ability  to maintain regular and punctual attendance. 
  • Ability  to communicate clearly via phone, video, and in-person. 
  • Occasional  lifting of materials up to 10 pounds.
