Description

Position Summary: Uses knowledge of clinical information and computer science to manage and 

communicate data, information, and knowledge, as well as improve clinical practice. 

Assists in the design, development, and implementation of computerized healthcare 

systems. Supports human-computer and human-technology interactions for patients and 

staff. Develop strategies and procedures for modifying information technology to best 

support clinicians. 

Responsible for supporting the performance improvement program to meet the needs of 

the organization. Provides education to medical staff, departmental staff and Governing 

Body as needed. Facilitates performance improvement activities and CQI activities 

throughout the organization. Acts as a resource person to administrative team, 

department managers and medical staff. Assists department managers with preparation 

for committees. Assists with regulatory body surveys, e.g., the accrediting organization, 

State Licensing Review, CMS Validation surveys.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Registered Nurse license and 2 years of clinical experience in direct patient care or Licensed Practical Nurse license and 5 years of clinical experience in direct patient care. 
  • Two (2) years previous technology (EMR, Microsoft, Excel) experience

Education and/or Experience Preferred:

  • Two ( 2 ) years or more experience in Quality Management including quality reporting, interoperability, and data driven performance improvement 
  • Experience in a critical access hospital, rural health clinic, or small healthcare organization

Project coordination or change management experience

  • CPHQ certification
  • Healthcare Informatics Degree

Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:

  • Current Nebraska Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse License

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous experience supporting or working in EMR systems in healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and training skills with the ability support clinical and non-clinical users. 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze workflows, solve problems, and support process improvements. 
  • Understanding of HIPAA privacy, security standards, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
