Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Learning and Development, the Culture and Engagement Manager owns and elevates the end-to-end employee experience at Gifthealth, with a strong focus on culture, engagement, connection, and retention. This role designs, activates, and continuously improves programs that bring Gifthealth’s mission and values to life across the employee lifecycle—from candidate experience and onboarding through engagement, community involvement, and offboarding.
This position partners closely within Human Resources and across the business to ensure culture and engagement are embedded, amplified, and scalable as Gifthealth grows. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on: capable of setting vision while executing high-quality programs that measurably improve employee experience and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Culture, Engagement & Belonging
- Lead Gifthealth’s culture and engagement strategy, translating mission and values into meaningful, scalable programs that strengthen connection, belonging, and engagement. • Design and deliver high-impact initiatives including employee recognition, volunteerism, employee philanthropy, belonging programs, Culture Council initiatives, and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
- Define success metrics, measure impact, and continuously evolve programs based on employee feedback, survey data, and business needs.
- Ensure all culture and engagement initiatives are inclusive, thoughtfully designed, and built to scale.
- Own and continuously improve the onboarding and orientation experience, ensuring new hires experience a seamless, welcoming, and values-driven introduction to Gifthealth.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and HR partners to embed culture and expectations early in the employee lifecycle.
Employee Experience & Retention
- Work cross-functionally to optimize key lifecycle moments including performance management, internal mobility, recognition, engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Leverage surveys, analytics, and employee insights to identify trends, tell the story of our culture, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Implement and support programs that promote wellbeing, inclusion, and long-term employee retention.
Learning, Communication & Enablement
- Partner with Enterprise Learning & Development colleagues to embed culture and values into onboarding, leadership development, and learning experiences.
- Collaborate closely with Employee Communications to amplify culture initiatives, share stories, and align messaging with broader communication strategies.
- Facilitate culture-focused sessions such as onboarding values experiences, engagement workshops, Culture Council meetings, and ERG leader forums.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives that enhance employee experience, culture, and operational effectiveness.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in HR, employee experience, culture, or engagement roles with lifecycle exposure.
- Proven experience leading engagement, recognition, volunteerism, onboarding, and belonging initiatives.
- Familiarity with employee engagement and survey platforms (e.g., Culture Amp, Glint, Lattice, Qualtrics) preferred.
- Professional HR certification, Certified Diversity Professional (CDP), or similar certification preferred.
- Columbus, OH location preferred; East Coast time zone required
Travel Requirements
Approximately 10–25%.

Physical Demands

The role involves approximately 90% of work time sitting, meeting with others, or working at a desk and/or computer. Approximately 10% of work time involves standing or walking within the work area or attending meetings. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, and reaching may be required. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is essential. The role may occasionally require lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds. Working conditions are typical of an office environment, and noise levels are generally moderate.
