CDL A Transport Driver with Hazmat
Description

Job Overview:

  • The CDL-A Transport Driver with Hazmat position is responsible for the following:
  • Operation of a class A tractor with manual transmission 
  • Loading tanker trailer (11,600 gallon capacity) from supply points (refinery, pipeline terminal, storage facility) and unloading at customer facilities.
  • Maintaining a clean vehicle
  • Twice daily vehicle inspections

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 years tractor and trailer experience
  • 1 year of tanker experience within the last 3 years preferred
  • Hazmat and Tanker endorsement, no manual restriction
  • No accidents within the last 3 years
  • No more than one moving violation within the last 2 years
  • Familiarity with computers or mobile devices used in service
  • Employment is conditional on verification of clean driving record, background check(s), and pre-employment/random drug testing

Physical Demands:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; push; pull; climb; crawl; kneel; lift in excess of 25lbs; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Most job functions will be performed outdoors and expose the employee to changing weather conditions.
  • Attach and detach permanent hoses or stored hoses to truck connections and terminal or facility connections

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position with non-regular hours. Employees must be available Monday through Friday during off-peak season and Monday through Saturday during peak season. Employees may need to work outside of or in addition to these normal days. Employees are typically home daily but may be required to spend 2-3 days out.

Travel:

  • Travel expectation outside of service area is approximately 10%
