Position Summary:
The Collection Support Specialist will perform a variety of administrative services within the Collections Department. This role will become familiar with a variety of company processes including pieces of first- and third-party collections, client and company requirements, as well as Federal and State collection laws. The Collection Support Specialist will work closely with and take direction from Collections Management.
- Participate in Account Manager training to gain an understanding of the full account lifecycle and collections workflow.
- Develop a working knowledge of first- and third-party collections processes, client requirements, company procedures, and applicable collection laws.
- Operate proficiently within collections software, vendor systems, internal programs, and other required applications.
- Prepare accurate pay-off letters for banks, title companies, and other authorized parties.
- Send itemized statements to consumers and authorized third parties.
- Work daily reports and high-volume work queues while managing accounts with accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist Third Party Account Managers with administrative tasks, documentation, and special projects.
- Maintain working knowledge of account documentation standards, including notes, codes, and workflow requirements, with minimal errors and limited need for assistance.
- Identify and report errors, irregularities, or compliance concerns.
- Provide input regarding process errors, workflow concerns, or irregularities.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written formats.
- Work with an online training team utilizing screen monitoring and/or video conferencing.
- Demonstrate strong typing accuracy and overall computer proficiency.
- Apply critical-thinking skills to resolve issues and support workflow efficiency.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive personal information, sensitive consumer information, and Protected Health Information.
- Maintain eligibility through an annual criminal background check.
- Maintain working knowledge of and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including FDCPA and relevant state laws.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED required. Completion of associate degree or post-high school courses is preferred.
- Previous administrative work experience in an office setting is required. Experience in using Microsoft Applications, Outlook, and Excel is required.
- Strong typing skills
- Previous customer service experience is helpful.
- Possesses strong organizational skills, detail orientation and has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and uses proper grammar and phone etiquette.
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Must be able to adapt to a change in a positive manner.
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to follow through and complete job tasks.
