About the Role:
Provides advanced software engineering and technical leadership for complex POTS enhancements, integrations, production support, modernization, and enterprise consolidation activities. Supports the Technical Lead and mentors Software Engineers.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design and develop complex POTS application components, APIs, integrations, workflows, and database features.
- Translate business requirements and user stories into secure, maintainable technical solutions.
- Lead implementation of high-priority enhancements and modernization initiatives.
- Support integration with NBS, NED, nVision, ServiceNow, DMS, and vendor platforms.
- Perform technical analysis, code reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and root-cause analysis.
- Mentor Software Engineers and promote engineering best practices. Support automated testing, CI/CD, configuration management, and controlled releases.
- Develop architectural designs, technical specifications, deployment scripts, and system documentation.
- Incorporate Section 508, privacy, security, and agency standards into solution delivery.
- Support production operations, incident resolution, monitoring, and SLA achievement.
- Assist the Technical Lead with architecture governance, technical planning, risk identification, and knowledge transfer.
Required Professional Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant software development experience.
- Advanced experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, RESTful APIs, SQL Server, JavaScript, AngularJS, jQuery, Ajax, Bootstrap, CSS, JSON, Agile/Scrum, Git, DevOps, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex enterprise web applications.
- Experience performing code reviews and mentoring developers.
- Experience supporting production environments and resolving high-priority technical issues.
Preferred Professional Skills:
- Experience with Federal acquisition, procurement, financial, or workflow systems.
- Experience with Python, cloud platforms, containerization, microservices, or modular architecture.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications and consolidating databases or application instances.
- Familiarity with security engineering, Section 508, privacy, and ATO documentation.
- Microsoft Azure, .NET, DevOps, Scrum, or related certification.
