Position Summary
The Director of Digital Media Partnerships is a strategic leader responsible for developing, managing, and expanding Breastcancer.org’s digital media monetization programs that advance the organization's mission, visibility, and monetization objectives. This position reports to the VP of Revenue.
The Director of Digital Media Partnerships is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive digital monetization strategy that generates sustainable, mission-aligned revenue with the goal of also expanding Breastcancer.org’s reach and impact. This leadership role identifies, pitches and manages strategic partnerships with sponsors, and corporate partners to monetize the organization's digital assets through digital display banners, sponsorships, affiliate initiatives, and other innovative revenue opportunities. This role will also be primarily responsible for the day-to-day relationship with our dedicated media partner with the shared goals of increasing our brand awareness and monetization from custom content program sponsorships.
Working collaboratively across marketing, communications, fundraising, content, technology, and finance teams, the Director will design and implement digital monetization strategies without compromising the organization's mission, credibility, or commitment to providing trusted, evidence-based health information. The role is responsible for managing existing and implementing new sponsorship and monetization opportunities, monitoring financial and performance metrics, and ensuring all monetization activities align with organizational values, brand standards, and nonprofit regulations.
The ideal candidate is a business development leader with expertise in digital media, advertising, sponsorship sales, content monetization, and partnership management. They possess a strong understanding of the evolving digital ecosystem, exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills, and a proven ability to balance revenue generation with mission-driven objectives. This individual is highly analytical, collaborative, and innovative, with a demonstrated track record of creating partnerships that deliver measurable financial results while advancing organizational impact.
Essential Responsibilities:
Website Monetization:
- Identify and implement new monetization opportunities, including new products, sponsored content marketing programs, newsletter banner models, and other revenue streams
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and best practices in website monetization
- Foster the day-to-day strategic and operational relationship with media partner
Relationship Management of teams:
- External - Day-to-day management of the media partner relationship and their sales efforts. Supporting the media partner by working closely with their business development, marketing, ad operations, sales, optimization and other relevant teams
- Internal - working closely with the BCO teams including content, marketing, communications, industry partnerships, technology, finance, project management and leadership
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within internal and external teams
Revenue Optimization:
- Optimize existing revenue streams and identify areas for improvement
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to inform decision-making
- Collaborate with BCO teams in tech, editorial and marketing, to ensure successful execution of monetization initiatives
·Ad Operations and Partnerships:
Working closely with the media partner to:
- Participate in the sponsor and agency relationships
- Optimize sponsorship performance to ensure campaign KPIs are achieved
- Maintain the day-to-day relationship with ad-operations team
- Identify new opportunities with emerging pharma brands
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and non-profit regulations related to digital sponsorship/underwriting and data privacy
- Manage the house banner inventory to utilize it in the most efficient and effective manner
Review monthly revenue and performance reporting for accuracy
Product Management:
- Define and prioritize the product roadmap for monetization features
- Collaborate with product & tech managers to develop and launch new monetization products and features. Internal and external teams
- Anticipate changes in monetization and the competitive and changing landscape to refine products and build new features or optimize existing
Pricing and Packaging for sponsorship programs:
- Contribute to the development of sponsorship pricing structure that aligns with our org objectives
- Innovate on packaging of products to enhance competitive positioning and revenue growth
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure smooth operations and address any potential disruptions
- Develop and implement processes for effective monetization
- Manage datasets, ensure data quality, and resolve team inquiries
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of hands on experience in digital media, sponsorships and marketing
- Experience working with digital agencies
- In-depth knowledge and experience using various digital marketing tools and platforms
- Proven track record of budget & planning management
- Experience interpreting analytic reports and producing actionable insights
- Experience working with and building consensus across cross-departmental teams
- Non-profit experience strongly preferred
- Health-related experience a plus

Breastcancer.org is committed to pay transparency and complies with applicable federal, state, and local pay transparency laws. As this is a fully remote position that may be performed anywhere within the United States, compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including the responsibilities of the role, the candidate's skills, experience, education, and internal equity. A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role is $120,000 to $135,000 but open to discussion based on schedule and hours worked. This is a benefits-eligible salaried position working 30 hours per week with openness to discuss hours and schedule. Employees working 30 hours per week are eligible for Breastcancer.org's comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and paid time off.
