Summary Description
We are looking for a curious, analytically minded early-career professional to join our Medical Economics team. As a Sr. Medical Economics Analyst, you will dig into large and varied healthcare datasets to uncover insights that shape decisions about cost of care, utilization, and program performance. This is a high-impact seat for someone who loves asking "why," enjoys connecting dots across data, and is excited to grow their craft alongside experienced analysts, actuaries, and clinical partners. You will report to the Director of Medical Economics within the Enterprise Reporting & Analytics organization.

Essential Functions
- Perform research and deep-dive analyses on complex healthcare claims data, CMS return files, financial cost, revenue, and vendor data
- Work with large and small datasets: join, transform, engineer, and extract meaningful insights
- Interpret statistical analyses and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Build and automate reports and dashboards using SQL, Excel, Power BI, and similar tools
- Partner with Finance, Actuarial, Population Health, IT, and external vendors to support enterprise reporting and analytic initiatives
- Document analytic logic, assumptions, and methodology so work is reproducible and auditable
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, data quality, and reporting efficiency
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., computer science, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, data analytics, public health, or similar) Equivalent experience considered
- 3-5 years of analytical experience (internships, co-ops, or relevant academic
- Working knowledge of healthcare claims structure and data (institutional and professional)
- Proficiency in SQL: able to write, test, debug, and document queries against large databases
- Experience working with large datasets
- Familiarity with methods to measure the impact and effectiveness of programs, policies, or intervention
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to validate and QA other team members’ work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting analytical findings to non-technical audiences
- Responsive, proactive, and dependable in supporting internal stakeholders
- Exposure to Medicare or Medicare Advantage populations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python, R, SAS, or other scripting/statistical languages
- Familiarity with Power BI semantic models, DAX, or modern BI governance practices
- Understanding of risk adjustment, HEDIS/Stars, or value-based care concepts
- Demonstrated growth mindset actively builds skills through coursework, certifications, or side projects
