Position Summary

The Personal Care Aide (PCA) provides non-medical personal care services that enable clients to safely remain in their homes. Services are delivered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with each client's individualized Plan of Care.

  

Responsibilities

  • Assist with bathing, dressing,      grooming, and personal hygiene.
  • Assist with toileting and      incontinence care.
  • Assist with ambulation,      transfers, and mobility.
  • Prepare meals and assist with      feeding, when needed.
  • Perform light housekeeping      related to the client's care.
  • Provide companionship and      emotional support.
  • Provide medication reminders (no      medication administration).
  • Observe and report changes in the      client's condition.
  • Complete electronic visit      documentation accurately and on time.
  • Follow each client's      individualized Plan of Care and agency policies.

  

Qualifications

Required

  • Virginia-approved PCA training or      qualifying credential.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Excellent communication and      interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and      professionally.
  • Ability to pass all required      background screenings.

Preferred

  • Previous home care or caregiving      experience.
  • CPR certification.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License      and current automobile insurance.
  • Experience caring for seniors or      individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience working with clients      living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.

  • Current CPR certification preferred.
  • Current TB screening and physical examination as required.
