MRI Technologist

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI scans in accordance with physician orders and established protocols to ensure precise and reliable imaging results.
- Screen patients thoroughly for MRI safety risks, including implants, devices, and contraindications, to maintain a safe environment.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients, providing education to reduce anxiety and promote cooperation throughout the imaging process.
- Position patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Administer contrast media as prescribed, monitoring patients closely for any adverse reactions and responding promptly if they occur.
- Monitor patient condition during MRI procedures, responding effectively to emergencies and providing necessary support.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records and imaging documentation within the RIS/PACS system.
- Ensure MRI equipment is functioning correctly, performing routine checks, and reporting any maintenance needs to ensure optimal operation.
- Follow infection control protocols, radiation safety guidelines (where applicable), and MRI safety standards to protect patients and staff.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Certification as an MRI Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) required.
- Proven experience performing MRI scans in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety protocols, including screening procedures and emergency response.
- Excellent patient communication and education skills.
- Ability to position patients accurately and operate MRI equipment effectively.
- Familiarity with RIS/PACS systems for documentation and image management.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety standards.
- Knowledge of contrast media administration and monitoring.
