Position Summary

This position will be responsible for ensuring that the PUPCO Fulfillment Center operates efficiently, while minimizing errors, ensuring customer expectations are exceeded. The ideal candidate is a confident leader who is data driven and collaborative in their approach.


Responsibilities 

  • Hire, train, coach, mentor, and develop Team Members to achieve business objectives while providing career growth opportunities. 
  • Conduct monthly performance discussions and Annual Performance/Wage Reviews to promote constant and measurable improvement. 
  • Monitor and address staging, receiving, and storage bin issues, utilizing cycle counts on a regular cadence to protect the accuracy/integrity of the physical inventory. 
  • Collaborate and guide Team Members regularly to communicate objectives, policies, procedures, safety practices, and draw attention to improvement opportunities. 
  • Maintain standards to ensure a safe work environment in the Fulfillment Center, within the guidelines of OSHA, NFPA, and DOL requirements. 
  • Maintain employee timecards and approve PTO, based on workload planning objectives, ensuring staffing and hours are congruent with workload. 
  • Identify and resolve fulfillment system issues through direct interaction and/or training the appropriate Team Members at the point-of-work, utilizing metrics/KPIs to maximize fulfillment efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Oversee the management of Fulfillment Center expenses, budgets, and direct labor hours. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate solutions, plans, tactical initiatives, and associated progress to Fulfillment Team Members, individually or in a group setting, including Leadership Team updates.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and can work with an appreciable amount of latitude.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work in ambiguous situations, bringing clarity to the process. 
  • Ability to understand the fulfillment lifecycle and how to ensure organizational alignment with Sales Objectives and each unique customer’s specific needs. 
  • Ability to overcome problems and challenges, while maintaining pre-defined timelines, despite competing priorities.
  • Ability to make independent decisions with minimal supervision, balancing customer service, employee engagement, safety, productivity, and other operational priorities.
  • Ability to interpret financial and operational reports to support business decisions.

Education and Experience

  • Must have at least 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in a fulfillment operation.
  • Significant hands-on leadership experience directly supervising hourly warehouse associates, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, employee development, and corrective actions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with an ERP system; particularly NetSuite.
  • Experience leading safety meetings and reinforcing safe work practices.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Forklift certification, or ability to obtain certification within a defined timeframe.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work primarily standing for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods.
  • Must work in hot and cold/inside and outside environments.
