Summary
The Account Executive II is responsible for managing all aspects of an assigned portfolio of transportation (i.e. commercial trucking) clients ensuring these client relationships meet management standards. These standards include risk, profitability, factoring services and financial controls. Through interdepartmental coordination, the Account Executive II is also responsible for ensuring the clients receive competitive factoring services, thereby minimizing voluntary client terminations. Additionally, the Account Executive II will develop relationships with clients and other sources which will result in referrals of prospects and help generate new business.
Location: Phoenix Capital Group is headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ with office locations in various states. Upon managements discretion and depending on the selected candidates location and proximity to the company's office location this position will have the opportunity to offer remote or hybrid work. "Remote or hybrid" means you can work completely from home or split time with a local office, where available.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for handling larger and more complex factoring relationships and portfolio size.
- Manage relationships with clients specializing (but not limited to) in TL, LTL, Autohauling, Sand, Warehousing, Intermodal moves.
- Provide courteous, timely and effective customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Manage assigned portfolio through complete and current knowledge of client’s business operations, AR performance and industry trends, and take timely action so client losses are minimized and do not exceed budgeted standards. Identify/escalate suspicious/inconsistent activities, overall account performance and any over-advance issues to management timely.
- Responsible for ensuring all invoices funded comply with approved program structure, including the understanding of differences between recourse and nonrecourse contract structures.
- Propose changes to client structure including contract terms, advance structure, and client risk ratings.
- Resolve factoring service problems, control operational costs and minimize loss of clients to competition. Structure and recommend changes to existing deals for review/approval.
- Propose changes in policies and procedures to reduce costs and provide better and more efficient services.
- Ongoing interaction with co-workers, Underwriting, Sales and management to ensure portfolio is managed effectively.
- Research, create, and/or update debtor information in system to ensure billing, AP, and NOA communications are accurate.
- Verification/collection call effort as workload may dictate, especially on escalated issues. In conjunction with management, support work of Collateral Analysts, Collections, Treasury and Debtor Credit.
- Contact debtors on invoices purchased to verify PCG is set up as the payee, confirm no issues on invoices and all set to pay.
- Interact with the Operations Team to ensure daily procedures and workflow are consistent and all potential invoicing errors are fixed prior to funding.
- Expedite return or application of unidentified, duplicate or non-factored payments to clients or debtors in collaboration with Treasury.
- Communicate with clients on a consistent and thorough basis to keep the Client apprised of all activity. Ensure the client receives the information necessary to effectively run their business as expected.
- Monitor client facility limits, disputes, and collection efforts daily.
- Create and provide system generated reporting to clients to ensure account information is constantly provided.
- Be prepared to discuss in-depth assigned accounts for each of the weekly assigned portfolio review meetings. Take prompt action, when necessary, as a result of the discussion of specific accounts/situations during those weekly meetings.
- Gather information from client to prepare Client Review Cards for facility limit increases.
- Assist management and co-workers as needed. Crosstrain and back-up other positions within the division as needed.
- Provide Client training on Phoenix Capital Group products to assist in the submission and tracking of client invoicing. (All Web & App based products)
- Attend webinars to gain insight and knowledge on various client types hosted by Portfolio Managers.
- Maintain a portfolio of accounts with outstanding NFE >$5 million to be measured at each quarter end. In addition, KPI’s to be measured quarterly as designated by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned or as required based on business needs or upon management’s discretion.
Skills/Experience/Education
- High School Graduate or equivalent, plus three (3) years’ experience in similar field (secured lending, asset based, banking, transportation, customer service, etc.) or college degree/college course work.
- 3 years factoring experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage expectations in a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Cadence/Factorsoft is a plus.

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
- Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.
