Description

Job Title:  Consumer Data Analyst – Chatsworth

Overview:

The Consumer Data Analyst should have a background in consumer financial services. Must have experience transforming large, complex datasets into clear, actionable insights through reporting, dashboards, and analysis that inform business decisions across the organization. Strong Salesforce background with quantitative skills will support risk modeling efforts.

Position will critically interpret data and connect analytical results to business realities, spots trends before they become obvious, and brings sound judgment to interpretation. When results seem surprising, you will dig deeper to understand the full story - pairing what the data shows with business logic and practical experience to arrive at well-grounded conclusions and recommendations.

What You Will Do:

  • Analyze large volumes of consumer financial data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that drive business performance.
  • Go beyond reporting the numbers, interpret results in business context, connect the dots across data points, and deliver clear recommendations with a point of view.
  • Proactively identify emerging trends, anomalies, and shifts in performance, and flag them to stakeholders before they become problems.
  • Apply sound judgment to analytical results: validate assumptions and data inputs, investigate findings that don't align with business logic or practical experience, and ensure conclusions reflect the full story.
  • Design, build, and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports and dashboards for stakeholders across the business.
  • Develop compelling data visualizations that communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Write and optimize queries and scripts (SQL and/or Python) to extract, clean, and manipulate data from multiple sources.
  • Support the development, validation, and monitoring of risk models in partnership with risk and analytics teams.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define metrics, and translate business questions into analytical solutions.
  • Document methodologies, data definitions, and reporting processes to ensure consistency and transparency.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in banking, consumer lending, or the broader financial services industry, in a data analyst or data analytics role.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in Salesforce in a Data role.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data analysis for consumer credit products (credit cards, personal loans, auto loans, mortgages, etc.).
  • Experience developing risk models (e.g., credit risk, loss forecasting, or similar).
  • Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques (regression, segmentation, forecasting).
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations in consumer financial services.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or SQL for data extraction, analysis, and automation.
  • Professional experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing large datasets and developing reporting and data visualizations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Sound business judgment to check analytical results against business logic and real-world experience.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a drive to understand the “why” behind the numbers, not just the “what”.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including well-reasoned recommendations
