Description
Redline Precision Group is seeking a dependable, hands-on Shop Technician to support daily operations in our machine shop. This is a hands-on role responsible for cutting steel and stock material, assisting with fabrication and welding tasks, operating a forklift, and keeping the shop running safely and efficiently. It's a strong opportunity for someone mechanically inclined who wants to grow their skills in a fast-paced fabrication and machining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut steel and stock material to size using saws, torches, and related shop equipment
- Assist welders and fabricators with fit-up, prep, and general fabrication tasks
- Operate a forklift to move, stage, and load material and finished product
- Support machinists and shop personnel with setup, material handling, and cleanup
- Read and interpret basic drawings, cut lists, and work orders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Perform routine maintenance and upkeep on shop equipment and tools
- Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and shop procedures
Qualifications
- Ability to accurately cut steel and stock material
- Basic welding knowledge or experience (a plus; willingness to learn required)
- Forklift experience (certification a plus; we can certify the right candidate)
- Ability to read a tape measure and basic shop drawings
- Mechanically inclined with good attention to detail
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, and work on your feet throughout the shift
- Reliable, safety-focused, and a team player
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Preferred (Not Required)
- Prior experience in a machine shop, fabrication shop, or industrial setting
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Basic understanding of steel grades and material handling
