Overview

We are seeking a motivated Computer Systems Administrator to join our Enterprise Infrastructure Support team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting both on-premises VMware environments and Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. This role is responsible for supporting complete lifecycle support for the physical and virtual servers, storage, and services that form the backbone of DeCA's enterprise operations. You will work as part of a team to ensure the stability, performance, and security of both legacy data center components and modern cloud solutions.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily operational support for the on-premises data center,  including managing the VMware vSphere environment, physical servers, and Storage Area Network (SAN) devices.
  • Assist in the administration of DeCA’s Microsoft  Azure environment, including the management of IaaS virtual machines,      storage, and networking components.
  • Support the planning, integration, testing, and implementation of new hardware, software, and cloud services in accordance with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement security controls, conduct vulnerability remediation, and maintain the information assurance  posture of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, troubleshoot performance issues, and respond to incidents to ensure high availability of enterprise  systems.
  • Document system configurations, build processes, and architectural  changes in the Configuration Management Library (CML).
  • Work assigned incident and service request tickets through the BMC Remedy system 

  

Knowledge must include:

  • Primary:
    • VMware  vSphere/ESXi: Managing virtual machines, hosts, and datastores
    • Microsoft  Azure: Administering IaaS services (VMs, VNet, Storage Accounts)
    • Windows  Server Administration: Active Directory, DNS, GPO


  • Secondary:
    • Storage  Area Network (SAN) concepts 
    • Enterprise Backup and Recovery solutions 
    • Basic Linux/UNIX system administration
    • Customer  Service & Support
    • Excellent  Oral/Written Communication

  

Required Qualifications:


Experience & Education (Must meet ONE of the following):

  • High School Diploma / GED + five (5) years of experience in an IT System Administrator role
  • Associate’s degree (must be aligned: Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Computer Engineering) + three (3) years of experience in an IT System Administrator role
  • Bachelor’s degree (must be aligned: Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Computer Engineering) + one (1) year of experience in an IT System Administrator role


  •  DoD 8140 Foundational Certification (Must possess ONE of the following): 
    • SecurityX, CCNP Security, CCSP, Cloud+, FITSP-O, GFACT, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ or SSCP 


  • Computing Environment Certification (Required within 6 months  of hire):
    • Must obtain ONE of the following: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) OR VMware Certified Professional - Data  Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV).


  • Security Clearance (Required):
    • Must  possess and maintain an active Secret clearance.
