Liberation Academy (https://www.liberationacademy.org/ ) seeks a highly organized, energetic, and systems-oriented Before & Aftercare Youth Facilitator to lead our extended day programs for middle school-aged solutionists.
Middle school is a unique developmental window. Our program departs from traditional "babysitting" to offer a highly structured, productive environment. In this role, you will maintain consistent routines, assist solutionists with academic homework, facilitate engaging, structured recreational activities, and ensure a safe, positive environment that aligns with our campus-wide operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Structured Academic & Activity Leadership
- Homework Assistance: Establish and maintain a quiet, focused "study hall" environment. Provide active academic support, guiding solutionists through homework challenges without doing the work for them.
- Structured Activities: Plan and lead structured physical, creative, or team-building activities designed specifically for middle school interests. Prevent "dead time" or unstructured hanging out.
- Behavior Management: Employ positive behavior intervention strategies to maintain order, respect, and focus, keeping in line with school-wide expectations.
2. Operational & Systems Compliance
- Adherence to Playbooks: Follow strict daily check-in, attendance, and dismissal procedures (including utilizing required digital applications like ParentSquare and dismissal software).
- Safety & Security Standards: Ensure all security policies are actively met (doors locked, visitor policies enforced, constant visual supervision of all solutionists).
- Emergency Protocols: Be fully prepared to execute safety protocols (Lockdown, Evacuation, Shelter-in-Place) immediately and confidently, carrying the designated emergency folder and orange medical bag when necessary.
- Space Maintenance: Ensure the cafeteria, gym, or classrooms utilized during care are left completely clean, with furniture reset, technology securely stored, and trash managed according to standard end-of-day protocols.
Role Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Middle School Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of direct experience working with middle school-aged youth (grades 5–8) in a school, camp, after-school, or recreational setting.
- Systems-Oriented Mindset: Strong comfort level following strict organizational checklists, guidelines, and digital operational platforms.
- Reliability & Punctuality: A stellar track record of punctuality. With before care beginning promptly at 6:00 AM, arriving on time is a non-negotiable safety requirement.
- Clear Communication: Ability to communicate professionally and warmly with parents, school administrators, and team members.
Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Ability to actively roam, supervise, and engage in recreational activities alongside solutionists.
- Pass a comprehensive criminal background check and fingerprinting clearance.
- First Aid/CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain certification within the first 30 days of hire).
