Position Summary
The Engineering Intern supports engineering and manufacturing projects related to trailer design, drafting,
documentation, process improvement, and production support. This position provides hands-on experience
working with engineering, production, quality, purchasing, and operations teams.
Essential Duties
• Assist with trailer, component, and assembly design projects.
• Create and update CAD drawings, 3D models, bills of materials, and technical documents.
• Verify dimensions, materials, tolerances, and product specifications.
• Support prototype development, testing, and engineering changes.
• Collect production data and assist with process, quality, safety, and cost improvements.
• Help investigate manufacturing concerns and recurring production issues.
• Coordinate with production and purchasing regarding materials and product requirements.
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and project updates.
• Follow all company safety requirements and wear required personal protective equipment
Qualifications
• Basic understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and technical drawings.
• CAD experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar software is preferred.
• Currently pursuing a degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering, engineering
technology, drafting, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Manufacturing, fabrication, automotive, agricultural, or mechanical experience is preferred but not
required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical and Work Environment
This position works in both office and manufacturing environments. The intern must be able to walk and
stand in production areas, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and safely work around machinery, welding,
noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
