About us:

New York Preschool & Kids Club is a premier early childhood education and enrichment program serving modern New York families through our combination of enrichment classes and preschool education. With multiple schools across New York City, NYPKC blends a research-backed, play-based curriculum with a fun and supportive environment, delivering a full family experience for children and parents.

About These Roles

We’re hosting a hiring event to fill three roles at once across our Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island City locations. Whether you’re a high-energy educator who loves gymnastics, science, and performance, or a dedicated classroom partner who thrives supporting a Lead Teacher, there’s a seat for you at NYPKC. Apply once and let us know which opportunity (or opportunities) fit you best.

Enrichment Teacher

We are seeking a high-energy Enrichment Teacher to provide New York City’s 2 to 6-year-olds with a foundation for lifelong learning through our incredible enrichment classes. In this "jack of all trades" role, you are part athlete, part scientist, and part performer - transitioning seamlessly from spotting a budding gymnast on the bars, to leading a "mad science" experiment, or coaching a parent and toddler through their very first steps. As a natural storyteller with a flair for the dramatic and a heart for early childhood development, you will turn every lesson into a core memory, ensuring our youngest learners feel confident, inspired, and excited to explore the world around them.

Assistant Teacher (Private & DOE)

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our mission of giving New York City’s youngest learners a joyful, solid foundation for lifelong learning. In this role, you will be the vital "right hand" in an inclusive, nurturing 2’s, 3’s, or 4’s classroom. You will support the Lead Teacher in implementing the Creative Curriculum or Tools of the Mind Curriculum, helping guide students through a journey of intentional play. You are a co-creator of a culture that fosters inquiry, independence, and social-emotional intelligence.

What You’ll Do

Enrichment Teacher

- The Enrichment Chameleon: Lead and co-lead a dynamic range of classes for children ages 0 to 6. You seamlessly pivot between our diverse classes and age groups to keep every lesson fresh and every class special.

- The Developmental Architect: Use structured and unstructured play, art, music, gymnastics, and STEM to build a child’s confidence and coordination. You’ll curate a "safe to fail" environment where a shaky first step or a messy art project is celebrated as a vital leap in their lifelong learning journey.

- The Proactive Problem Solver: Master the art of the transition and the "behind-the-scenes" flow. Whether it’s resetting a gym circuit, organizing a classroom, or jumping in to assist a teammate, you tackle daily operations with a "ready-for-anything" attitude.

- The Family Partner: Build trust with parents and caregivers through daily updates, sharing the successes and challenges of their child’s day, and building a bridge between school and home.

Assistant Teacher

- The Classroom Co-Pilot: Partner with the Lead Teacher to implement engaging, play-based lessons using the Creative Curriculum (DOE) or Tools of the Mind Curriculum (Private). You’ll help set the stage for curiosity in preschoolers ages 2, 3, or 4.

- The Safety Anchor: Ensure every student’s health and safety is the top priority. You’ll help maintain a "safe-to-fail" environment where children feel secure enough to take risks and explore their world.

- The Developmental Guide: Support "the whole child" - physically, cognitively, and emotionally. You’ll be on the ground helping children navigate big feelings, social interactions, and daily transitions.

- The Family Partner: Build trust with parents and caregivers through daily updates, sharing the successes and challenges of their child’s day, and building a bridge between school and home.

What Success Looks Like

- Ensuring a safe, joyful, and engaging classroom environment where every child thrives.

- Anticipating classroom needs and preparing resources well in advance of instruction, and taking initiative during transitions.

- Executing smooth, efficient transitions between classes and activities to maximize learning time.

- Cultivating trust-based relationships with students, families, and the internal team.

- Maintaining 100% compliance with all Department of Health requirements.

- Working collaboratively with the Head of School and fellow teachers to maintain the highest standards of safety and care.
