Description

River Run is a shared services organization that supports banking affiliates, Newburyport Bank, Pentucket Bank and Rollstone Bank & Trust.   


The Content & Communications Specialist develops and manages content that supports River Run's marketing, communications, and business objectives across all affiliated organizations. Working within River Run's in-house marketing agency model, this role creates engaging multi-channel content, manages content calendars and communication projects, and ensures all content is accurate, consistent, and delivered on schedule. 


This role features a hybrid work model that blends in-office collaboration three days a week with the flexibility to work from home two days a week.  


Essential Job Functions

  • Develop, write, edit, and manage engaging content that supports marketing campaigns, business initiatives, and organizational communications across multiple channels, including websites, blogs, email, social media, video, podcasts, newsletters, presentations, annual reports, event communications, and digital media. Ensure all content aligns with brand standards, messaging, and target audiences.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage content calendars, communication schedules, and content libraries to support marketing campaigns, community initiatives, and business priorities while ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent delivery.
  • Support public relations efforts by preparing press releases, media materials, business announcements, and crisis communications; coordinate media requests and monitor media coverage.
  • Develop internal communications that support organizational initiatives, employee engagement, and change management by delivering clear, timely, and consistent messaging.
  • Collaborate with Community Relations, campaign managers, business lines, and other stakeholders to identify communication opportunities, gather information, and develop content that highlights customer success, employee achievements, community involvement, and organizational initiatives.
  • Participate in River Run's marketing intake, project prioritization, and cross-functional planning processes to ensure communications align with strategic business objectives.
Requirements

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, English, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in communications, content marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field; experience in financial services, banking, regulated industries, executive communications, and managing multiple brands is preferred.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging content.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, build relationships across the organization, work independently in a fast-paced environment, and exercise sound judgment and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management platforms (Monday.com preferred), and email marketing platforms.

The salary range represents an estimate based on market data for this position. Final compensation decisions are made based on experience, skills, and internal equity to ensure fairness and consistency across our organization.

$62,870 - $89,590
