Job Overview

We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused part-time Barista to join our team!  Typical shift will be 16-32 hours/week and will involve working on Fridays, Saturdays, and every other Monday.  In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and providing excellent customer service. You will also support and provide excellent customer service to the Kalona Creamery retail store as needed.

Primary Duties 

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso, and specialty drinks
• Handle basic food preparation, such as pastries and breakfast items, and assist with the production of ice cream as needed 
• Support the Kalona Creamery Retail store team as needed
• Provide exceptional customer service with a friendly and positive attitude
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and retail store
• Rotate and stock inventory for retail shelves and reach-in coolers
• Follow all health and safety guidelines for food and beverage handling
• Operate the cash register, handle transactions, and maintain accurate cash handling
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards

Requirements

• Passion for coffee and customer service
• Previous barista or food service experience (preferred, but not required)
• Ability to work early morning shifts and/or weekends with reliability and punctuality
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced setting
