Truck Loader (2nd Shift: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.; M - S, Weekends required)

Market Leader in Aluminum Extrusion seeks Truck Loader for Monday - Saturday 2nd shift: 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Weekend work is required. Must have flexible schedule.

Job responsibilities include:

• Uses crane to load packaged customer orders onto trucks stationed at loading dock, following shipping instructions.
• Loads packaged customer orders onto trucks stationed at loading dock. Visually checks overhead crane in accordance with plant safety rules. 
• Verifies quantities of goods shipped and ensures all packages are properly labeled. Notifies supervisor of loose or damaged cartons. 
• Uses correct straps and spreader bars for lifting bundles onto trucks to prevent product damage. 
• Loads packages in order of customer deliveries (first in / last out), while ensuring each load is properly secured and balanced for safety. Updates applicable shipping records. 
• Assists Packers and Banders as needed. Packs heavy shipments of extruded aluminum pieces according to customer specifications. Secures packed bundles with metal strapping; labels bundles. 
• Maintains clean and orderly workplace.
• Observes safety rules and practices; reports any unsafe conditions to supervisor.

 Qualifications:

• HS Diploma/GED required
• Valid driver's license required
• Forklift experience preferred
• Previous experience a plus
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to perform duties in a manufacturing work environment and in      seasonal temperature extremes (heat/cold)
• Able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• A flexible schedule is a must. Weekends are required.
