IS THIS YOU?
• You're early in your HR career and ready for more scope -- or you come from operations or admin and want to move into a people-focused role
• Strong candidates may come from HR coordinator or assistant backgrounds, dealership or retail operations, administrative or office management roles, or another environment where they've built strong organizational skills and learned how to support people effectively
WHO WE ARE
Swickard Auto Group is a hospitality company that happens to sell and service cars. We believe the best guest experiences start with the best employee experiences. That's why we've grown to 40+ rooftops across the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii while maintaining a culture built on one simple idea: do right by people, every time.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The HR Generalist is a hands-on, people-focused role supporting employees and managers across the organization with consistency, discretion, and the care that a hospitality-first company demands. You will:
• Support day-to-day HR operations across assigned dealership locations -- serving as a reliable resource for employees and managers on HR policies, processes, and questions
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes -- ensure that separations are handled accurately and with care, including all documentation
• Maintain accurate employee records -- process status changes and ensure employee documentation is complete and compliant
• Support employee relations -- listen with empathy, document accurately, and escalate situations appropriately
• Support compliance efforts -- ensure HR practices align with federal, state, and local employment regulations across multiple states
• Partner with managers on performance management processes -- supporting documentation, coaching conversations, and corrective action procedures
• Contribute to HR projects and initiatives that support Swickard's growth, culture, and employee experience
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• HR experience preferred -- not required. We're open to early-career HR professionals ready for their next step and candidates with strong operational backgrounds
• Proven success in an operations, administrative, or people-facing role
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and HR processes a plus -- Paylocity experience a strong plus
• High integrity and respect for confidentiality -- HR work requires discretion and people trust you with sensitive information
• Clear, empathetic communicator -- comfortable working with employees and managers at all levels of the organization
• Organized and accurate under pressure -- able to manage multiple priorities without losing detail or follow-through
• Curious and coachable -- you ask good questions, learn quickly, and apply feedback
• A genuine care for people -- not just as a professional value, but as a personal one
WHAT WE OFFER
• $60,000 - $65,000/yr
• Medical, dental, vision, and pet insurance
• Life insurance and supplemental coverage options
• Paid time off and paid holidays
• Real development opportunities -- this role sits within a growing HR function supporting a $3B+ company, with room to expand your scope as you grow
• Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts
• A collaborative environment and investment in your growth
WHY SWICKARD AUTO GROUP
• A hospitality-first culture that takes the employee experience as seriously as the guest experience -- HR here isn't just compliance and paperwork, it's part of how we build a company people want to work for
• A growing organization at scale -- 40+ rooftops, nearly 3,000 employees, and expanding. The HR function is growing with it, and there's real room to build a career here
• Swickard is one of the fastest-growing dealer groups in the country -- ranked Top 5 in North America for reputation in the automotive industry
• Our HEART values -- Honor, Engage, Anticipate, Respond, Thank -- are the foundation of how we lead, and the HR team is responsible for bringing those values to life across the organization
• A Shared Services team that collaborates, supports each other, and takes pride in the work behind the scenes that makes everything else possible
Swickard is the kind of company where an HR Generalist can do meaningful work, develop real expertise, and grow alongside an organization that is moving fast.
