Description
  $2500.00 Hiring Bonus 

The Low Boy Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of heavy construction equipment, machinery, and oversized loads to and from construction sites, shop facilities, and vendor locations. This position requires compliance with all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and applicable state and local transportation requirements. The driver plays a critical role in supporting field operations by ensuring equipment is delivered safely, on time, and in proper working condition.


  Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations with low boy trailers to transport heavy construction equipment and materials.

• Load, secure, transport, and unload construction equipment including excavators, bulldozers, pavers, rollers, loaders, and other heavy machinery. 

• Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections and accurately complete required documentation.

• Ensure all loads are properly secured and comply with DOT regulations and company safety requirements.

• Verify equipment dimensions, weights, permits, and routing requirements for oversized loads.

• Coordinate with the dispatcher and superintendent regarding transportation schedules and delivery needs.

• Maintain accurate driver logs, vehicle inspection reports, fuel records, and other required documentation.

• Report equipment damage, maintenance concerns, accidents, or safety incidents immediately.

• Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping of assigned truck and trailer.

• Ability to operate heavy construction equipment preferred.

• Operate in a safe and professional manner while representing the company at customer sites, job sites, and public roadways.

Requirements

 • Valid CDL Class A driver's license required with no restrictions- MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION

Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience preferred.

• Experience hauling heavy construction equipment and oversized loads strongly preferred.

• Construction industry experience preferred.

• Acceptable motor vehicle record required.

• Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical) required.

• Tanker, Hazmat, or other endorsements may be preferred depending on operational needs.
