Ostrom is seeking a skilled Electrician to perform maintenance and service calls as scheduled by Dispatch. The primary goal of this role is to create a 5-star customer experience by communicating expectations, asking thoughtful questions, and offering options based on the customer's wants and needs.

The Electrician performs maintenance calls and service calls as scheduled by Dispatch. The primary goal for the electrician is to create a 5-star customer experience by communicating expectations, asking thoughtful questions, and offering options based on the customer's wants and needs


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and service calls as directed by dispatch, with on-time arrival at the first call each day and accurate ETAs communicated for the remainder of the day
  • Use the expectation card upon arrival to inform the customer what they can expect during the call
  • Perform a thorough inspection of the electrical system on every call, following the evaluation checklist and notifying the customer of any issues found
  • Provide customers with ABC options based on their wants and needs
  • Provide customers with information and pricing on service agreements, accessories, and other comfort improvements
  • Install electrical projects including panel upgrades, rewires, device replacements, lighting, and other residential electrical improvements
  • Perform commercial electrical service and installation work as assigned
  • Perform generator diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and full generator installations in accordance with manufacturer and company standards
  • Debrief with dispatch upon completion of each call and communicate replenishment of parts used; follow PO process for non-truck stock parts
  • Ensure the customer's home is protected and in the same or better condition upon completion of work
  • Keep the vehicle stocked, accurately inventoried, clean, and in safe working order; pass quarterly vehicle inspection
  • Return defective warranty parts and unused inventory to the branch
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, checklists, paperwork, hours, and materials records
  • Maintain a professional image at all times by wearing company-approved uniforms
  • Participate in company training classes and follow all safety policies and procedures
Requirements

  Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Electrical licensing as required by municipality (State, County, and/or City)
  • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
  • Must be able to use a computer tablet and smartphone, and read a map or follow GPS
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Neat, clean, professional appearance and excellent interpersonal communication skills with a desire to exceed client expectations and function in a team environment
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply

 

Working Conditions

Regularly works in indoor/outdoor environments with extreme temperature variations. Climbing, heavy lifting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching are required. The job is physically demanding, requiring standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects regularly, repetitive tasks, working outdoors in all types of weather, and working in tight or cramped spaces for long periods. Must have good visual acuity with normal peripheral vision and depth perception. Willing to work hours outside of normal work schedule if needed.
